PAUL ELLENBERGER
The story of juxtaposition is most commonly viewed in terms of its separation and division rather than its holistic actuality. Dualistic disconnections between humanity and nature, or one human and the rest of humanity, perpetuate our despiritualization and suffering. Nature has become disenchanted and is only viewed in terms of its productive capacity; connections between individuals are limited by differences rather than defined by similarities. Bridging this gap of dualism displays the monistic actuality of two, being one and the same. My process is one of refinement, utilizing a wide array of inspirational source material, such as scientific resources, from any field of study. Collage provides a platform for conceptual exploration and a source of potential expansion, through which potential forms can be distilled. The juxtaposition of geometric and organic, abstract and concrete coalesce into one, carrying a visual metaphor and communicating messages of spirituality.
